 Week 1 Geo 9: Introducing Ireland- Nolan Wade 

Ireland- Ireland is an island in the northern Atlantic Ocean. Ireland is a part of the European continent and is the second-largest island of the British Isles and the twentieth-largest in the world. Ireland's population is over seven million. The island's geography consists of mountains, plains, and dense greenery. Ireland is divided between the Republic of Ireland, a sovereign nation, and Northern Ireland, a part of the United Kingdom.

Hazards, Disasters, and Catastrophes- First a hazard is any threat or danger that could cause damage or harm. A hazard is the possibility of a harmful event occurring it doesn't mean the event actually has to happen. A disaster is when a hazard becomes realized and there is a significant disruption, damage, or destruction. A catastrophe is when a disaster is very severe or causes widespread devastation. Catastrophe is used to describe an event with long-lasting consequences.
